How we handle your information

Last updated 29 September 2026.

What we collect, and when

When you start a purchase of Your Property Plan we ask for your name, your email address and your phone number. We ask before the payment screen rather than after, so that if something goes wrong part way through we can still reach you.

If you go on to pay, our payment provider Stripe separately collects your payment details. We never see or store your card number.

Later, inside your package, you choose what to tell us about your properties and what you are looking for. That is yours to give and the package works on whatever you provide.

Why we collect it

To deliver what you paid for, to send you your report and the link to open it, and to contact you about the package by email, SMS or phone. If you gave us your details and did not finish the purchase, we may contact you once or twice to ask whether you had a question. If you tell us to stop, we stop.

Where it goes

Your contact details are stored in our own systems and are also sent to our customer relationship system, GoHighLevel, which is operated from the United States. That means your name, email address and phone number are disclosed to an overseas recipient and held outside Australia. Our payment provider, Stripe, also operates internationally.

To read the market for each property you tell us about, we send its address to our property data provider to find the suburb it is in. The provider is given the address only, never your name or your contact details.

We use Anthropic, an AI company based in the United States, to help write the short lines about each property on your report page. For that it is given each property's suburb and figures, such as its value, loan and rent, never your name or your street address. If Alaya prepares a portfolio health check for you, we may also use Anthropic to read the finished report into your online report page. That means the report, including your name, your property addresses, your loan balances and your rents, is sent to Anthropic and processed outside Australia. We use it only to put your report on your page.

Inside your plan you can ask Ally, our helper, questions about the plan. Ally's answers are written by Anthropic, the AI company in the United States named above. When you ask, we send Anthropic your question, the earlier messages in that chat, where you are in the plan (the step, and the part of the page you're looking at), which steps you've finished and which of its examples you've had a go at. We never send your name, your email address, your property addresses, your income, your loans or the figures you type into the plan, so please don't type them into the chat. Your questions are processed outside Australia. We don't keep the words of your questions or of Ally's answers: we keep only a record that a question was asked, when, on which step and how much it used, so we can keep to a daily limit. We also keep how long each answer took, with that record, and counts of how Ally is used, like which part of the plan a question was about, kept as labels in a separate record that doesn't hold your name, your order or your words. You don't have to use Ally: everything in your plan works without it. If our team adds a 20-year plan to your package, we also use Anthropic to read the purchases in it into your plan, so that document is sent to Anthropic and processed outside Australia.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

If you would rather not give it

You do not have to. Without an email address we cannot deliver the package, because the report is opened with a code sent to your email. If you would rather arrange it with a person instead, contact us and we will.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the reasons above, and no longer. If you ask us to delete it, we will, unless we are required to keep a record of a purchase for tax or accounting reasons.

Seeing it, correcting it, or complaining

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also complain about how we have handled it, and we will respond.

Reply to any email we have sent you, or get in touch through alayaproperty.com, and ask for whoever handles privacy. We will come back to you.

If you are not satisfied with our response you can take the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Stopping the messages

Every marketing email we send carries an unsubscribe link. Reply STOP to any SMS. Ask the person on the phone to take you off the list and they will. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop the messages about a package you have actually bought, such as your report being ready.
